ChirpPlay
— Turning IV therapy into a moment of play, connection, and comfort.
For children in hospitals, IV therapy can be one of the most frightening and stressful procedures. Being tethered to an unfamiliar stand, waiting passively without knowing when it will end.
ChirpPlay uses interaction and design to build trust, reduce fear, and bring moments of joy into a child’s medical experience.

How It Works
At the top of the stand, a fun little bird acts as a timer. It emits a soft “chirp” when the IV drip is complete—providing a clear, child-friendly cue that replaces the uncertainty of endless waiting. This helps children understand time and feel in control.
Below, a fold-out table creates a shared space where two children can draw, play, or chat. This transforms the typically isolating treatment process into an opportunity for connection, distraction, and emotional comfort.
Together, these elements turn a sterile medical moment into something warm, social, and emotionally supported.
